Responsibilities
Perform and oversee structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial and industrial building projects
Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of engineers, designers and drafters to execute structural designs
Meet with the project team to ensure effective communication flow during design
Interface with the contractor during construction to ensure positive results with minimum complications
Attend construction site visits and assist in construction administration
Manage profitability of projects and maintain a working relationship with clients
Participate in business development, including proposal writing and contact negotiations
Be available to travel to local job sites and client meetings several times per week
Be present in the office during the days and hours that are set by the office manager. In-office work is required for this role
Be able to lift 35 pounds, climb ladders, and work from high platforms
Be able to simultaneously work on multiple projects with challenging schedules in a high-energy work environment
Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
Qualification
Required
Minimum 10 years of experience as a structural engineer
Licensed structural engineer
Solid experience in the design of steel, concrete, and wood materials for commercial and industrial buildings
