Director - Accounting

Responsibilities
Lead an accounting team, including prioritizing tasks and deliverables, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies
Maintain financial records and general ledger accounts in compliance with U.S. GAAP
Oversee financial reporting, technical accounting, and internal controls
Oversee a team of accountants (both onshore and offshore), providing training and mentorship
Lead the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Monitor internal controls to ensure compliance
Utilize enterprise financial systems (Workday) to process transactions and generate reports
Drive automation, system enhancements, and process improvements
Lead accounting projects and analysis related to ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 340, and ASC 350 and serve as a subject matter expert in these areas
Review contracts, financials, reconciliations, and journal entries for accuracy and completeness
Collaborate with auditors, tax professionals, and financial planning teams
Ensure timeliness and accuracy in financial reporting
Conduct technical research on accounting standards and recommend process changes
Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy and acquisitions
Develop and mentor senior accounting leaders
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (at a 4 year university)
10-12+ years of accounting experience, ideally in SaaS, Banking, or FinTech
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including advanced knowledge of ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 340, and/or ASC 350
Proficiency with accounting systems (Workday strongly preferred) and Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding expectations and deadlines
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities
Experience with acquisitions and integrations
Experience managing offshore staff
CPA required
Preferred
Master's degree in Business Administration strongly preferred
