They are seeking a Senior Discipline Civil Engineer to lead the re-launch of their Civil Engineering Department in Seattle, responsible for managing projects, mentoring staff, and fostering client relationships.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, designers, and technical staff
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture
Manage civil engineering projects from inception to completion, maintaining quality, schedule, and budget adherence
Provide technical oversight and quality control for designs, reports, and deliverables
Serve as a subject matter expert in civil engineering design, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices
Identify and pursue business opportunities
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, municipalities, and key stakeholders
Lead proposal development, contract negotiations, and project scope discussions
Monitor project profitability and implement process improvements as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) registration required
Registration in Washington (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Minimum of 12 years of progressive civil engineering site development experience including the following: Preparing fee and qualifications-based proposals, Managing multiple, concurrent projects, Leading design team efforts, Successfully managing project budgets and schedules, Interfacing with a multi-discipline design team, Mentoring junior staff, Client management
Technical experience with hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, technical studies, mapping documents, preparation and processing of civil construction documents, and earthwork calculations
Excellent communication, client service, and team leadership skills
Ability to foster long term client relationships
Business development interest and the ability to help win and grow work

Preferred

Registration in Oregon preferred
Stormwater experience in Western Washington strongly preferred
Experience coordinating with a multi-discipline design team is strongly preferred
Experience collaborating with local architectural/engineering community is strongly preferred
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microsoft office and other software
Project experience in Industrial, Federal, and Alternative Energy / Energy Storage markets strongly preferred
Experience designing public utilities
Experience serving as a prime consultant
Experience with zoning entitlements and permit procurement
Ability to work with counterparts in other Coffman offices to share workload when required
Experience with managing day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations
Experience attending and participating in local professional organizations
Specification preparation experience preferred
