Responsibilities

Prepare Traffic Impact Studies, Parking Studies, Highway/Intersection Capacity Analyses, and related traffic operations evaluations
Design traffic signal systems, roadway improvement plans, Maintenance and Traffic Control (MOT) plans, and Traffic Signal Timing Directives in accordance with applicable county and state standards and regulations
Train, mentor, and oversee entry-level to mid-level engineers, designers, and analysts to ensure technical excellence and high-quality deliverables
Manage traffic engineering projects, including scope development, scheduling, coordination, budgeting, and client communication
Prepare comprehensive submissions, reports, and applications for municipal, county, and state jurisdictional review
Attend and actively participate in internal and external project meetings, acting as the technical expert, especially in public meetings and hearings
Communicate effectively with coworkers, clients, and agency staff at local, regional, and state levels through strong written and verbal communication

Preferred

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
4+ years of traffic and analysis experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, Highway Capacity Manual/Software AutoCAD or MicroStation, zoning, and site plan permitting process
Professional Engineer (PE) license or working towards a license in New Jersey and/or New York
Knowledge of NJDOT Access Management Code and experience preparing access permit applications
Knowledge of NJDOT traffic signal design standards and experience in the design of traffic signal systems
