Administrative Specialist I - Court Collections Unit
Cumberland County, PA is dedicated to providing impactful county services, and they are seeking an Administrative Specialist I for the Court Collections Unit. The role involves assisting the Court Fiscal Investigator and managing tasks related to collections performance for fines, fees, and restitution.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Manages the entire process of establishing payment plans and enforcing collections on all collection cases
Researches and investigates location and ability to pay of defendants for all delinquent cases
Coordinating and administering Admin hearings for delinquent cases
Facilitates Bench Warrants for offenders who are not compliant with their costs and fines. Must work directly with the constable and sheriff’s office regarding the warrants and arrests
Process driver’s license suspensions, restorations and recalls. Communicates with clerk of courts and PennDOT for this process
Collects and maintains collection related data; generates reports from relevant databases for collection stats and updating databases and spreadsheets
Manages defendant participation in programs, such as direct debit or wage attachments
Process exonerations on all deceased offenders and offenders with extenuating circumstances
Processes payments over the phone and in person
Prioritize, prepare and conduct collections court in front of the Judge
Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to, filing, ATP packets, training, system backup
Assists with answering telephone
Sorts and delivers mail
Qualification
Required
Associates degree preferred or equivalent work experience in Accounts receivable/accounts payable experience preferred
Three to five years' minimum experience in criminal justice
