Responsibilities

Perform complex diagnostic tests, including those requiring complex specimen collections and complex equipment

Provide routine but complex instructions for patient procedures and treatments, according to unit guidelines and as delegated by providers and nurses

Assist with complex procedures, requiring knowledge of complex and varied equipment including LEEP

Provide in-service training and precepting as directed

Problem-solve issues related to the retrieval of medical information

Coordinate clinical services provided to patients according to payer guidelines (e.g., routing of lab specimens, ordering durable medical equipment)

Develop and recommend changes in patient care activities to improve the quality of patient care services

Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system may be required in certain areas

Perform other related duties as assigned

Moderate standing/walking, as well as, lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients
