Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is offering internships to students currently enrolled at various Texas universities. Interns will engage in activities such as writing for newsletters, handling public relations, and caring for animals during events.

Responsibilities

Writing stories for the show’s daily commercial exhibitors’ newsletter, writing news releases for the livestock competitions, and the Houston Livestock Show website
Working in special-event public relations and education
Work in large-scale public animal exhibits and educational displays that include tours for school children
Handle daily animal care and feeding, answer questions about the animals from the public, and supervise animals at rodeo for disabled children
Work with livestock check in and departures, help in the show ring for livestock events, and handle clerical duties involved with the livestock show’s functions
Serve as special event administrative assistant's in Show's offices
All interns may have additional duties as assigned in their areas

Qualification

Required

Currently enrolled at Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, Alvin Community College, or University of Houston
Authorization from the Internship Program Director in order to apply for this position
