Mechanical Swivel Engineer IV

Responsibilities
Review client specifications and establish design bases for swivel systems
Develop conceptual layouts and select appropriate sealing systems and configurations
Evaluate pressure and structural loads, size components, and perform stress, strain, fatigue, and bolting calculations
Select and specify materials, slewing bearings, and other components
Define quality and testing requirements, review detailed and assembly drawings, and verify bills of materials
Prepare design reports, testing procedures, and oversee assembly and performance testing as needed
Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues
Coordinate documentation reviews with Classification Societies
Lead or significantly contribute to large, complex engineering projects
Provide high-level technical guidance between customers, internal engineering teams, and subcontractors
Investigate and resolve root causes of technical problems while ensuring safety and environmental compliance
Mentor junior engineers and assist in their professional development
Test and evaluate prototypes and models; prepare test and closure reports
Use CAD/CAM and database systems (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to design, analyze, and evaluate equipment systems
Develop and maintain engineering documentation, procedures, and reports
Support proposal efforts and prepare technical data for sales, customers, and publications
Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Present findings and project updates to management and external partners
Influence decision-making across technical and organizational boundaries
Comply with HSEQ Code of Conduct, including all safety, health, and environmental standards
Follow all company policies and ethical guidelines outlined in the Group Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
Promote a culture of safety and accountability at all times
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 10–15 years of relevant experience in a specialized product line or area, or
Master's degree with 5–7 years of experience, or
Ph.D. with 1–2 years of experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities using advanced mathematical and engineering principles
Ability to evaluate complex data and make informed, objective decisions
Effectively plans, prioritizes, and executes work to meet deadlines
Clearly conveys technical information and builds rapport with clients and colleagues
Provides mentorship and guidance to peers and fosters collaboration
Works independently, takes initiative, and drives results
Preferred
Proven track record in executing complete design cycles, particularly in swivel-related projects
Proficiency in FEA and familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
Demonstrated ability to apply advanced engineering principles to develop new technologies or improve existing systems
Experience using SolidWorks for 3D modeling and AutoCAD for layout and design
Strong organizational, project planning, and leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience preparing technical documentation and client presentations
