Responsibilities
Cultivate connections with individuals and organizations that influence referrals to hospice care
Develops a clear understanding of the referral source’s needs and provides tailored solutions, utilizing appropriate marketing collateral or educational materials
Accurately document daily sales calls, referral source contact information, territory updates, and communications in electronic database systems; submit required reports to management
Submit expense reports timely and in accordance with company policies
Stay within allotted budget and work with manager if opportunities arise that require additional financial resources
Coordinate and conduct educational events for referral sources in collaboration with the Education Department to promote hospice care and the organization’s mission
Respond to referral source inquiries regarding patient status and provide timely updates, including notifications of patient deaths
Attend professional meetings and networking events to represent hospice services and build community relationships
Serve as a liaison between referral source and hospice care to address concerns and document issues
Engage in staff and departmental meetings, in-services, and other organizational activities
Attend seminars and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills relevant to hospice care and outreach
Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the overall goals of the hospice program
Promote hospice services directly to physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living communities within an assigned territory
Develops and executes a business plan to achieve territory goals for growth
Inform healthcare professionals about hospice eligibility criteria, services, and Medicare benefit to foster strong referral relationships
