Responsibilities

Supports the delivery of high quality drug metabolism studies by managing an aspect of the project within own specialist area
Has a significant impact on the quality of the project by providing specialised technical knowledge, interpreting experimental data and solving problems with innovative solutions
Delivers high quality work within own specialised area by independently directing and performing research experiments in line with broader projects. This may include performing studies on animals or organisms
Provides input and technical expertise to support the design of absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME) studies as part of assisting in the development of improved analytical techniques to meet departmental demands
Collaborates and communicates with the team to ensure efficient communication of data
Keeps up-to-date on scientific discoveries and advances and shares relevant information with the rest of the team
Contributes to determining the viability of projects as a valued team member and provides technical expertise on specific issues
Has significant input into project resourcing decisions and the allocation of work
Provides advice and training to less experienced peers and has significant input into project resourcing decisions
Ensures own work, and work of peers, is compliant with Good Laboratory Practice, Safety, Health and Environment standards and all other relevant internal AstraZeneca standards and external regulation

Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and the drug development process
