Market Development Manager
SoTalent is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Market Development Manager to lead their commercial development efforts within a key geographic market. The role involves leading a team of sales professionals, developing and executing sales plans, and building relationships with restaurant operators and distributor partners to drive growth in the foodservice industry.
Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of sales professionals to achieve territory growth and business development objectives
Develop and execute annual sales and market development plans aligned with strategic goals
Target new business opportunities—focusing primarily on restaurant operators (70%) and distributor partnerships (30%)
Build strong relationships with regional restaurant chains, commissaries, and healthcare operators to expand market presence
Collaborate with distributor partners to accelerate sales growth through joint planning, training, and marketing execution
Support the team in partnering with restaurant leaders and culinary professionals to help clients grow their businesses
Manage trade fund investments and promotional budgets to ensure effective deployment and measurable ROI
Drive execution of quarterly and annual sales initiatives with precision and accountability
Qualification
Required
5+ years of progressive sales experience, preferably within the foodservice industry
Proven success in achieving growth targets and developing customer relationships at a senior level
Strong business and financial acumen with analytical decision-making skills
Skilled in negotiation, coaching, and strategic planning
Inspirational leadership style with the ability to motivate teams and influence cross-functional partners
Commitment to continuous improvement and disciplined execution
