Responsibilities
Build, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters for both commercial and federal environments
Perform K8s version upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance with minimal downtime
Collaborate with SRE teams to troubleshoot cluster issues and optimize cluster performance
Support vulnerability remediation in K8s environments, working with the Vulnerability Management team to address identified issues as required
Identify and recommend improvements to operational processes and automation related to K8s management
Investigate and assess secure networking protocols—including IPsec, WireGuard, and similar technologies—for transmitting traffic into new Kubernetes clusters, working with network security and architecture teams to design solutions that ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of cluster communications
Qualification
Required
Experience with Kubernetes cluster management, including self-managed and cloud-managed environments
Familiarity with security compliance frameworks and benchmarks relevant to Kubernetes
Knowledge of on-premise and hybrid cloud infrastructure, including ClusterAPI concepts
Proficiency in build and deployment automation tools (ArgoCD) and CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab)
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Helm)
Experience with secure networking protocols and traffic encryption methods
Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with security, networking, and platform teams
