GOVERNMENT RELATIONS COORDINATOR

The City of Surprise is seeking a Government Relations Coordinator to join their team. This role involves supporting various government relations initiatives, including research and analysis of legislation affecting the city. The Coordinator will perform professional duties related to interdepartmental communication and special projects.

Responsibilities

Serve as an integral member of the Government Relations team
Perform a wide variety of support duties including special projects and research studies
Conduct interdepartmental communication and other specialized functions
Review, research and analyze proposed state and federal legislation affecting the City

Qualification

Legislative researchMunicipal analysisPublic administrationPolitical science

Required

Bachelor's Degree in public administration, political science or related field
Three years of experience in municipal and/or legislative research and analysis
Must have at time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License

Preferred

Master's Degree in Public Administration or related field
Previous legislative and/or municipal experience

Benefits

Arizona State Retirement Savings (ASRS) for temporary employees working 20-31 hours per week for 20 weeks or more, per fiscal year.
