Mechanical Systems Engineering II (Hybrid)
Collins Aerospace is a leading aerospace company, seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer II to join their team. This role involves designing and developing functional system architecture for engine control systems while collaborating with an integrated product team to ensure designs meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities
Collaborate in a team environment to design functional system architecture, defining major components and subsystems using physics-based models
Develop detailed functional schematics, concept layouts, sketches, and preliminary component details
Develop, manage, and communicate system requirements to the integrated product team
Investigate design factors and conduct trade studies to identify optimal solutions to meet both internal and external customer requirements
Support testing for systems, subsystems, and components
Support design verification and certification tests, post-process and analyze test results in relation to design specifications and objectives
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
DoD Clearance: Secret
Preferred
A bachelor's degree in mechanical, systems, or aerospace engineering is preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Coding (VBA, Python, or similar) experience
Strong communication skills
Experience in the aerospace industry
