Main Component Exchange Technician (MCE) - Travel
Sky Climber Renewables is seeking a Main Component Exchange Technician (MCE) to specialize in large corrective tasks on wind turbines. The role involves executing main component exchanges, performing repairs, and conducting maintenance while ensuring safety and compliance on various projects.

Responsibilities
Perform large component exchanges on Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), to include blades, gearboxes, generators, main bearings, etc
Work with site leadership to execute all contractual obligations and activities set forth with the customers daily, which can include any portion of the electrical, mechanical or balance-of-plant equipment on site
Perform repairs or replacements of mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical components to correct malfunctions
Conduct maintenance of equipment (cleaning, greasing, lubrication, etc.)
Lead and/or assist with other daily work activities, related to all areas of site operations, as directed by manager, with minimal supervision
Coordinate with engineering support team when in need of additional troubleshooting/ diagnostic assistance
Complete and maintain required company and client documentation and records, using computer-based service reporting tools and procedures
Clean and organize tools, equipment, and work area including sweeping, mopping, wiping oil, grease, solvent spills
Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally per the Audubon Employee Handbook and insurance requirements
Maintain required training certifications for position held. These include at a minimum: OSHA 10, NFPA 70E, GWO BST/BTT/ART, CPR/AED - First Aid
Perform Torqueing/tensioning of multiple bolted connections in compliance with installation manuals and bolt torque specifications
Test electrical components and systems, as well as mechanical and hydraulic systems
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical malfunctions
Crane calling experience
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 3 yrs of wind industry experience
Must be able read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, assembly/disassembly instructions, operation and maintenance procedures, and technical manuals
Experience in overall wind farm operations and maintenance, installation, and heavy lift main component exchanges
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in an environment of changing priorities
Intermediate level computer skills and ability to use technology apps and devices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated technical and team leadership capabilities
Must have positive attitude and the ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights
Willingness to work in confined spaces and alternate schedules, including overtime and holidays
Ability to climb wind turbines (approx. 300 feet)
Weight compliance between 120 and 280 pounds for safety standards
Capability to lift and move heavy equipment (over 50 pounds)
