Short-Term Credit Salesperson (Global Markets)

RBC Capital Markets is seeking a Vice President–level sales professional to join their Global Markets team as a Short-Term Credit Salesperson. This senior role involves managing a client book, generating revenue through the distribution and sales of short-term credit products, and collaborating with various teams to support business growth.

Responsibilities

Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned institutional clients, providing market insight, product solutions, and consistent senior-level coverage
Independently originate, execute, and grow short-term credit sales activity across CP, YCD, ABS, and related products
Partner closely with traders to align client demand with market conditions, inventory, and funding strategies
Proactively manage and expand an existing client portfolio while identifying and developing new institutional relationships
Demonstrate strong judgment in prioritizing client opportunities and deploying time toward the highest risk-adjusted returns
Represent RBC at client meetings, due diligence sessions, and industry conferences; travel as required
Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and RBC policies
Act as a role model for RBC’s values, conduct standards, and risk culture

Required

5+ years of relevant experience in short-term credit sales, money markets, or fixed income distribution
Deep knowledge of short-term credit instruments, including CP, YCD, and ABS
Demonstrated ability to operate independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced trading floor environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate market views and product strategies to sophisticated clients
Proven track record of covering institutional fixed income accounts and generating revenue
Strong client relationship management and business development capabilities
Collaborative, solutions-oriented team player with a high degree of professionalism and accountability
Bachelor's degree required
FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses required
