Responsibilities
Maintain an understanding of plant operations, attend project reviews, and review management of changes for assigned manufacturing areas to determine environmental impact
Read and interpret regulations to communicate and assist in applying those requirements to plant operations
Prepare permit applications with limited support
Complete accurate engineering calculations to support environmental emissions reporting and permit applications
Assist in training plant employees to comply with regulations and corporate environmental guidelines
Independently perform engineering design and calculation assignments with only general guidelines for expected results
Develop functional expertise and share knowledge with the team
Support the resolution of non-compliance situations
Support audits of site environmental programs
Lead small teams to achieve project goals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering
Preferred
Four years of progressive engineering experience, OR master's degree in engineering
Strong understanding of environmental regulations and their application to manufacturing operations
Proficiency in preparing permit applications and performing engineering calculations for environmental compliance
Ability to work independently and perform engineering assignments with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train employees and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Proven ability to lead small teams and contribute to team success
