Responsibilities

Develop and execute a multi-year global supply chain strategy in support of growth and innovation objectives
Partner with senior leadership to ensure supply chain initiatives support financial, operational, and customer-driven goals
Ensure collaboration and coordination between programs, engineering, operations(manufacturing), quality, finance and procurement teams
Establish standardized processes, KPIs, and governance structures across multiple entities/business units that perform manufacturing with Mission Technologies
Drive collaborative decision-making to resolve tradeoffs (cost, schedule, performance, risk) in alignment with business strategy
Support S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) to synchronize demand forecasting, capacity planning, and production scheduling
Ensure supply chain visibility from planning through delivery, leveraging digital tools and advanced analytics
Implement supplier performance management systems and quality improvement initiatives
Develop resilient supplier networks
Negotiate strategic agreements with key suppliers, emphasizing long-term partnerships and joint innovation
Build a framework for multi-sourcing, risk mitigation, and rapid supplier onboarding
Champion digital supply chain initiatives-ERP/MRP/MES optimization, predictive analytics, AI/ML forecasting, etc
Identify and deploy automation and advanced logistics technologies to improve efficiency and agility
Benchmark against world-class supply chain organizations and embed best practices
Maintain compliance to the certified purchasing system (CPSR)
Ensure adherence to export control, ITAR/EAR, and cybersecurity standards
Establish contingency and resilience planning for geopolitical or natural disaster disruptions
Reduction in lead times and supply risk exposure
Improvement in inventory turns and working capital utilization
On-time delivery performance across programs
Supplier quality and performance metrics
Progress toward digital transformation milestones
Employee engagement and cross-functional collaboration effectiveness
Procures, sources and negotiates the buying of machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization
Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives
Monitors performance of suppliers
Evaluates areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions
Tracks data to keep informed on price trends and market dynamics
Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules
Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, and maintains necessary records
May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages

Required

10 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant progressive experience
Must have buying and team management experience ideally in a low volume, high mix, high value manufacturing environment
Certified Purchasing experience required
Valid Driver's License required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
Exceptional interpersonal and social skills and a great team player is required
Positive and professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comprehensive applied knowledge and experience of ERP/MRP systems is required
May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment
Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level

Preferred

Experience in a multi-shift manufacturing environment desired
Working knowledge of negotiation techniques in electro-mechanical industry
Experience purchasing in a DoD environment is desirable
Experience with small business requirements & flow downs is a plus
Lean procurement experience is highly desirable
Strong understanding of relevant market conditions and trends
Flexible to travel (e.g. supplier visits, remote sites) necessary
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and relevant Web/Cloud based applications and data management a plus
Certificates and Licenses: Appropriate CPSM, APICs certification a plus
