Responsibilities
Perform tasks on projects requiring a broad and / or deep knowledge in the field of heavy/highway civil construction and structural engineering
Perform structural analysis and design; including but not limited to reinforced and pre-stressed concrete design, steel design and timber design, deep foundations, gravity-based foundations, earth retaining structures, crane pick plan / rigging, bridge deck, etc
Implement design and ensure conformance with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Prepare and review calculations for analysis along with preparing engineering reports, memoranda, and design submittals
Prepare working/draft construction drawings for AutoCAD drafter
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or similar from accredited institution and 10 or more years of relevant experience
Bridge experience required
PE license (NY or NJ) required, NY is preferred
Proficient in using Structural finite element analysis software tools such as MIDAS or RISA
Proficient working knowledge of Excel and Mathcad
Proficient working knowledge, understanding, and application of critical industry accepted codes; IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Specification and Construction Manual, NDS, AREMA, AASHTO and AWS
Maintain membership in industry organization (AISC, AWI, RCSC) and continued professional development for PE License
Must have the ability to organize and handle multiple tasks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction
Preferred
Masters degree focused in structural engineering
Experience working on projects in the NYC/Metropolitan area preferred
