Responsibilities
Acquire, ingest, and manage data from multiple source systems and storage platforms
Design, develop, and modernize data pipelines by transforming existing ETL logic to AWS, Databricks, or equivalent cloud platforms
Build and enhance data services and components using Java and Python, applying object-oriented and functional programming principles
Design and implement scalable, reliable, and high-performance data processing solutions for batch and real-time workloads
Establish and enforce standards and best practices to ensure data consistency, quality, and completeness across data assets
Perform end-to-end software development including design, coding, testing, deployment, and technical troubleshooting
Write secure, efficient, and maintainable code with a strong focus on performance and operational stability
Analyze upstream and downstream system dependencies and assess technical impact during development and production support
Leverage SDLC tools and automation (CI/CD, version control, testing frameworks) to improve delivery speed and reliability
Collaborate closely with architects, product owners, data analysts, and operations teams to deliver high-quality solutions
Support production environments by monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving data and system issues
Qualification
Required
Strong hands-on experience with AWS
Strong hands-on experience with Java
Strong hands-on experience with Python
Strong hands-on experience with Big Data technologies
Experience with Snowflake
Experience with Databricks
Experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data platforms and services in a cloud-first environment
Experience in modernizing data pipelines
Experience in migrating legacy ETL workloads to the cloud
Experience in ensuring high-quality, reliable data assets across the enterprise
Expertise in data engineering
Expertise in software development discipline
Experience in production-grade system ownership
