Responsibilities

Provide Systems engineering support for T-AO 187 Class Vessels
Provide support to shipboard engineering systems
Work with stakeholders
Use, maintain, and improve document authoring and drafting practices and tools to develop reports, manuals, and drawings with high efficiency and accuracy
Lead team to carry out Outyear Engineering Requirements for various class of ships including the T-AO 187 Double Hull Class
Design and develop interfaces between ship systems and new equipment
Author and develop design reports to accompany in-service modifications to ship systems
Develop advanced proficiency in 2D drafting practices to improve in-service modification

Required

BSME in Marine Engineering
Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience aboard a T-AO 187 Class Oiler, ideally on the Double Hull (T-AO 201, 203, or 204)
Experience with government contracts and in-service ship repair and ship new construction for DOD Vessels
Project Management skills
Ability to write concise reports and specifications in English with minimal oversight in MS Word making use of features such as styles, fields, and references
Extensive experience in ship design, modification, or maintenance projects
Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work alone on individual projects with minimal supervision and with other Engineering Disciplines on a team
Ability to interface with team members, technical leads, and Project Managers
Ability to review and apply US Navy and/or US commercial ship design requirements, including DOD acquisition, system safety, and testing processes
Good verbal (English) communication skills
Willingness to travel ≤10% of the time
Must be a US Citizen
Ability to Obtain a Clearance

Preferred

Active USCG Coastguard License 1AE Unlimited Horsepower or Greater
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D
Chief Engineer experience in shipboard or shipyard role
15 Years Shipboard and/or shipyard design, operation, or repair experience
Engineering and Technical Authority (E&TA) Familiarization training
Apply working knowledge of maritime regulations, classification society rules, and industry standards to ensure compliance
Provide technical support for in-service vessels throughout their lifecycle, leveraging past industrial and operational experience to solve complex engineering challenges
Active Secret Clearance
