Responsibilities
Responsible for originating conventional, VA, and FHA mortgage loans, as well as construction, second mortgages, and HELOCs
Generate new loan business and evaluate, authorize, or recommend approval of mortgage and consumer loans
Network with realtors, community leaders and business owners to obtain loan referrals
Prospect for loan opportunities by being visible in the community
Promote business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services
Meet and communicate with loan applicants to explain the terms and approval criteria of loan products
Obtain relevant information and evaluate applicants' financial status, including credit history, debt-to-income ratio and appraisal reports
Ensure all necessary information and documentation is submitted to loan processing
Maintain current knowledge of all applicable lending guidelines and regulations
Maintain, review and update credit and loan files
Collect from delinquent loan customers
Qualification
Required
Experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator
Ability to originate conventional, VA, and FHA mortgage loans
Experience with construction, second mortgages, and HELOCs
Ability to generate new loan business
Ability to evaluate, authorize, or recommend approval of mortgage and consumer loans
Networking skills with realtors, community leaders, and business owners
Ability to prospect for loan opportunities
Strong customer relations skills
Ability to explain loan terms and approval criteria to applicants
Ability to evaluate applicants' financial status, including credit history and debt-to-income ratio
