Responsibilities

Working with project managers and team members to develop engineering designs for permitting or construction permits
Management of civil or environmental engineering projects, including land development and associated planning, soil and erosion control design, and stormwater permitting
Analyze documentation including technical reports, construction submittals, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to understand site characteristics (e.g., geotechnical properties, terrain, hydrologic and hydraulic characteristics, etc.) to support design development
Review applicable regulations, permitting requirements, and standards
Develop civil engineering designs on projects of varying complexity based on interpretation of data and regulatory constraints
Producing quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several assignments
Conduct field assignments, including participating in face-to-face client, technical, and other stakeholder meetings
Travel up to 15%
Delegate work and mentor junior engineers, participate in and facilitate group meetings, and effectively work with the project team

Required

Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering or closely related field
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
Minimum 5 years of professional experience
Fluent with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, or other terrain modeling design software
Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling (e.g., HydroCAD, WinTR-55, PondPack, HEC-RAS)

Preferred

Master of Science in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering or closely related field
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training
Professional Engineering license(s)
Certified Professionals in Erosion and Sediment Control
VADEQ-Certified Plan Reviewer and Inspector for Erosion and Sediment Control and/or for Stormwater Management
