California Department of State Hospitals is seeking a Clinical Psychologist for the Metropolitan State Hospital. The role involves participating in a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide assessments, diagnostic clarification, and treatment for patients in a State Hospital setting, particularly those with forensic backgrounds or acute mental illness.

Responsibilities

Participates in a multidisciplinary treatment team providing assessments, diagnostic clarification, and treatment for patients in a State Hospital setting

Work with a population which has been adjudicated, PC1370 incompetent to stand trial, PC1026 not guilty by reason of insanity, or committed under LPS conservatorship

Experience working with patients in a forensic setting, and/or a locked psychiatric facility, serving patients with acute mental illness is strongly desired

Knowledge of forensic psychological assessments, and procedures is critical

Required

Possession of the education and experience for the appropriate specialty (Clinical, Counseling, Educational, Experimental, or Social) as outlined in Section 1396 of the Board of Psychology's Regulations

Candidates must be willing to work in any Unit/Program and any shift to meet the needs of the facility

Experience working with patients in a forensic setting, and/or a locked psychiatric facility, serving patients with acute mental illness, is strongly desired

Knowledge of forensic psychological assessments, and procedures is critical
