Summer 2026 Internship: Software Engineering: Automation Tool Design and/or Software Project Management

QTS Data Centers is offering a summer internship program that provides first-hand experience in the data center industry. The Software Engineering intern will work on automation tools or assist in project management, gaining exposure to real QTS objectives and collaborating with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization

Facilitate changes and IT based tools and access for staff at all levels

Leverage project management tools to properly track ongoing deliverables across projects

Maintain updated budgets, schedules, and status reports for assigned projects

Use programming languages like: Python, JAVA, C++, Golang

Leverage controls engineering methodologies and tools

Qualification

Required

Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, or a related field

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Must be a US Citizen

Preferred

Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, HR, facilities engineering, or related industries

Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI

Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, etc

Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment)

Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS's partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school: Auburn University, Kansas State University, Georgia State University, Southern Adventist University, Texas A&M University, University of Kansas
