The Underwriting Associate I will assist the Commercial Lines Operations Team in profitable premium growth by processing policies and providing technical support for new and renewal business.

Responsibilities

Assists underwriters in the daily underwriting and processing of new and renewal business, endorsements, and premium audit transactions

Uses established practices, processes, and procedures to renew and write new policies based on underwriting authority level

Makes decisions and recommendations for varied situations while applying judgment to interpret related information, policies, and procedures

Applies knowledge to help solve problems of relatively limited scope and complexity

Communicates with assigned agencies and underwriters, creating and delivering varied types of messages and information

Required

Knowledge of property-and-casualty industry practices, standards, and underwriting concepts

Bachelor's degree in insurance or finance, or equivalent related experience

Preferred

AU and / or INS certification preferred
