They are seeking a Civil Superintendent to take full ownership of complex civil projects on Kauaʻi, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity while leading field crews and managing project execution.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and direct daily construction activities in coordination with Project Managers and Foremen

Develop and maintain work schedules aligned with crew availability, material deliveries, and project milestones

Adjust plans proactively to account for weather, site conditions, and unforeseen challenges

Build, train, and lead high-performing field crews by assigning work based on skill sets and experience

Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and clear communication

Address jobsite conflicts or issues promptly, professionally, and respectfully

Enforce Alpha Inc.’s safety policies and OSHA requirements across all jobsite activities

Conduct safety training on tools, equipment, and proper use of protective gear

Ensure all work meets Alpha’s quality standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements

Track daily production, manpower, and equipment usage

Monitor project costs and productivity; identify risks early and collaborate on corrective action

Review and support change orders while balancing scope, schedule, and budget

Serve as the primary field point of contact for day-to-day project execution

Participate in regular project meetings to report progress, resolve issues, and align next steps

Read, interpret, and communicate drawings, plans, and specifications clearly to crews

Maintain compliance with all Alpha Inc. policies and procedures

Keep jobsite documentation accurate and current

Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Required

5+ years of successful, progressive experience in heavy civil construction required

Demonstrated ability to independently lead jobsite operations from mobilization through close-out

Experience coordinating crews, equipment, subcontractors, and project schedules

Associate degree in Construction Management or related field preferred

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; MAC experience preferred

Familiarity with HCSS, HeavyJob, or Adobe Acrobat preferred

Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and blueprints and clearly communicate scope to crews

Calm, decisive leader who earns respect in the field

Strong communicator who sets clear expectations and follows through

Completion of standard pre-employment screening
