Papé Group is a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, and they are seeking an Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic to join their team. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks while serving as a mentor and technical resource for other technicians in the shop.

Responsibilities

Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks

Leading by example while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism

Ensuring that every truck repair is completed with precision, efficiency, and lasting quality

Analyzing complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions

Determining the best repair strategy and executing repairs or rebuilds on major systems including engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems

Supporting customers by maximizing uptime and getting trucks back on the road quickly, safely, and correctly the first time

Required

5 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair

Basic computer knowledge

Self-motivation and assertiveness

Ability to work under little or no supervision

Excellent communication and customer relations skills

Must provide own tools

Preferred

Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred

Cummins and MX software experience preferred
