Technician, Stator & Assembly
Hyliion is committed to creating innovative solutions for clean electricity production. The Stator & Assembly Technician is responsible for building, assembling, and testing stator subassemblies, while also supporting electrical and battery-related operations on the production floor.

Responsibilities
Assemble stator subassemblies including laminations, windings, coils, insulation, and structural components using drawings and instructions
Perform coil winding, bonding, adhesive application, curing, and final stator assembly
Install hardware, torque fasteners, and complete mechanical fit-up of stator parts
Operate equipment such as winding machines, presses, welding tools, injection and curing systems, and test fixtures
Conduct quality checks, including visual, dimensional, and basic electrical inspections
Support end-of-line stator testing: continuity checks, insulation resistance, and documentation
Identify and escalate issues, defects, or process gaps
Handle electrical tasks such as harnessing, cable routing, terminations, connector installations, and grounding
Support battery module and subassembly assembly (fastening, insulation, connections)
Install components like sensors, harnesses, busbars, and comms lines
Assist with high-voltage tasks (training provided)
Use multimeters and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting
Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and basic functional testing
Support battery/electrical subassembly tests (Hi-Pot, IR, leak checks, visual inspection)
Troubleshoot build issues and assist in root cause analysis
Log test results and report out-of-spec conditions
Follow standardized work procedures, travelers, control plans, and safety protocols
Complete documentation such as serial logs, quality checklists, and production records
Support pilot builds, trials, and engineering change implementations
Offer feedback to improve tooling, workflow, and quality processes
Keep workstations clean and organized per 5S principles
Qualification
Required
2+ years in stator, motor/generator, or electromechanical assembly
Strong mechanical skills with tools (torque, hand, and power tools)
Able to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and follow work instructions
Precision-focused with excellent attention to detail
Experience in fast-paced production or pilot settings
Comfortable working with electrical systems (HV training provided)
Basic computer literacy
Preferred
Background in stator manufacturing, coil winding, or motor/generator work
Experience in battery or electrical subassemblies (EV, aerospace, industrial, etc.)
Familiarity with multimeters, insulation testers, and torque analyzers
Experience with R&D, pilot builds, or early-stage production
Relevant training/certifications such as IPC/WHMA-A-620
High-Voltage Safety (Lv. 1–3)
ESD or electrical safety
Understanding of Lean and 5S principles
