The role involves providing strategic leadership over compliance and inspections, ensuring adherence to the Private Security Industry Act, and influencing stakeholders to enhance compliance and standards in the sector.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the SIA’s private security compliance and inspections capability
Providing strategic leadership over the regulatory work and teams delivering this statutory function
Providing a coherent strategy and effective supervision and compliance regime
Providing regulatory advice on compliance, inspecting and investigating non-compliance, and ensuring robust enforcement interventions under the PSIA regime
Influencing a broad range of stakeholders to improve compliance with the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (PSIA) and standards of private security generally
Qualification
Required
Track record of senior leadership and performance success in high-profile comparable organisations with national reach (government, private or public sectors)
Experience of leading inspections and/or investigation teams
Proven success of using investigation powers in a regulatory environment to sanction, deter and disrupt non-compliance
Ability to drive positive changes in sector / industry behaviours
Ability to elicit outstanding performance internally
Ability to influence a broad range of external stakeholders to inform and promote positive and effective organisational and industry change
Ability to work collaboratively and collegially with peers, senior colleagues and front-line teams
