Principal Electrical Engineer
Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) is dedicated to safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. The Principal Electrical Engineer will provide engineering support for the Tank Farms Projects, focusing on design, specification, analysis, and maintenance of electrical systems while coordinating with various engineering groups and managing project aspects.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance of electrical system aspects of projects including design, application, testing, preparation of specifications for systems, materials, equipment or components in collaboration with other engineering/science competencies within the team
Develop and sustain productive customer relationships
Prepare Statements of Work, design products, procurements, specifications, etc
Lead teams or function as a team member consisting of both internal and external resources
Understand engineering work assignments and to be self-directed
Be customer service oriented, completing assignments safely, on time, and within budget
Provide technical guidance to subcontractors in the execution of design (e.g., ensure use of correct design inputs, utilization of accepted analysis methodologies, design standards, and verification methods)
Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff members and interns
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
Ten (10) years of related experience for Grade 20
Twelve (12) years of related experience for Grade 21
Fifteen (15) years of related experience for Grade 22
U.S. Citizenship Required
Preferred
Previous experience working in a nuclear facility or nuclear project
Experience with NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
