President/Executive Director Tee It Up For The Troops
Tee It Up for the Troops is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and supporting military veterans. The President/Executive Director will lead the organization by setting strategic direction, managing fundraising efforts, and overseeing operational activities to ensure the mission is effectively executed.

Lead and execute the strategic direction of the organization
Responsible for fundraising, major sponsorship recruitment and retention, overseeing operational activities, and implementing plans and policies in partnership with the Board of Directors
Provide vision and leadership to Tee It Up for the Troops and its various events and operations across the country
Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization nationally
Be a collaborative team player who is willing to be 'hands-on' when necessary but understands when to step back and lead the team
Ensure the team clearly understands performance expectations and that assigned tasks are reasonable, well-conceived, and appropriately conveyed
Provide resources necessary to allow employees to perform their jobs effectively and be fair and firm in adherence to organization policy and procedure
Recommend, monitor, and manage policies, operating procedures, and staffing for all areas; recognize the needs and consistently perform high levels of service in each of these operating areas
Lead the evolution and transformation of the organization to ensure alignment with its mission and vision, fostering a culture of excellence through strong governance, an engaged Board of Directors, and a high-performing team of staff and volunteers
Develop an annual budget for review and approval by the Board of Directors and ensure that expenditures are within the budgeted amounts
Direct financial activities and decision-making based on plans and policies as directed by the Board of Directors
Practice sound fiscal management to ensure adequate funds are available to permit the organization to carry out its mission
Oversee financial stewardship and accountability to support long-term mission impact
Evaluate, modernize, and strengthen organizational systems and processes including CRM, donor management platforms, and event management tools to enhance operational efficiency, data integrity, and long term organizational effectiveness
Recruit, manage, inspire, motivate, and empower a strong volunteer/staff team
Prepare for the anticipated growth of the organization
Develop and implement appropriate human resource policies and procedures, including training, career development, hiring and firing, succession planning, and performance management for all staff
Align staff roles and responsibilities with organizational priorities, ensuring clarity and efficiency to achieve mission-driven outcomes
Coordinate and evaluate the work of staff, volunteers, Board members, and Committees
Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all organizational activities—including golf events, reunions, programs, and services—to ensure quality, impact, and alignment with the mission
Lead efforts to recruit and engage volunteers, donors, and sponsors at both national and local levels to strengthen organizational capacity and sustainability
Manage operational and programming activities from concept to completion
Develop goals and objectives for consideration by the Board of Directors
Execute the organization’s Strategic Plan and oversee action steps in the plan of action
Develop and sustain a diverse funding base
Raise visibility of the organization through the development and implementation of a sustainable marketing campaign that focuses on sponsors, volunteers, and public participation
Implement creative strategies to increase event sponsorships and expand the public awareness of the TIUFTT mission and objectives
Oversee fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching new funding resources, establishing strategies to approach new donors, and administering fundraising records and documentation
Lead overall marketing, social media, and public affairs efforts
Assure the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders
Promote an organizational culture that fosters passion for the mission, cooperation, open and frequent communication, teamwork, and a common organizational vision
Oversee recruitment and development of strong Board, Chapter, and volunteer participation
Oversee the vision for the organization’s key outreach program and deliver an exceptional experience for the participating warriors and caregivers, nonprofit partners, and sponsors
Actively engage in the retention and recruitment of sponsors and donors to effectively cover the core expenses for hosting this annual event
Work with the host venue to minimize costs and maximize the experience for all attendees
Work with the Board to evaluate the feasibility of expanding the REUNION program to include additional markets and dates
Qualification
Required
Mission-driven, externally focused, and highly capable nonprofit executive
Experience in setting and executing strategic direction of an organization
Strong fundraising acumen
Event-based operational experience
Ability to inspire donors, sponsors, volunteers, staff, and partners
Proven track record of meeting organizational milestones and key performance indicators
Experience building strategic partnerships
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to work independently, determine priorities, and make appropriate decisions
Flexibility and ability to work under changing circumstances and manage multiple projects
Ability to utilize financial statements and budgeting skills
Fundraising and event planning experience
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with sponsors, donors, Board of Directors, nonprofit partners, and the general public
Exercise diplomacy in interpersonal relations and in resolving conflicts
Establish and maintain working relationships with the Board of Directors, employees, Chapters, volunteers, and the general public
Portray a positive image for TIUFTT and its mission
Bachelor's degree preferred, with a focus on Business Management
Substantial Non-Profit Leadership in lieu of the degree
Employment eligibility verification upon hire
Preferred
Military service experience
Fundraising-specific certifications, such as CFRE, ACFRE
