Responsibilities
Prepare, submit, and track DME insurance claims (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers)
Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and authorization requirements
Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
Research, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims
Post insurance and patient payments accurately
Identify underpayments and initiate appeals when necessary
Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
Ensure all required documentation is complete and compliant with payer guidelines
Coordinate with intake and clinical teams to resolve missing or incomplete information
Stay current on DME billing regulations and payer policy updates
Communicate professionally with insurance representatives, referral sources, and internal staff
Respond to billing-related inquiries in a timely manner
Qualification
Required
1+ year of experience in medical billing; DME billing experience strongly preferred
Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing processes
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
