Deputy Prosecuting Attorney - Juvenile Division
NEOGOV is seeking two enthusiastic, experienced attorneys for the Juvenile Division of the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The role involves handling a large caseload of juvenile criminal matters, prosecuting cases, and engaging in community outreach while applying Restorative Justice practices.

Responsibilities
The attorney will be responsible for vertically handling a large caseload of juvenile criminal matters
This attorney will be expected to effectively file, negotiate and try cases
This position will also involve regular calendar coverage, with occasional coverage on weekends via telecommute
The candidate should demonstrate an interest in applying Restorative Justice practices
Juvenile Division attorneys are also encouraged and expected to engage in community outreach as needed
Qualification
Required
Skill in planning, preparing, presenting and conducting case strategies to prosecute criminal cases
Skill in presenting criminal cases in court
Skill in interpreting and explaining policy and law to officials, other professionals and victims/witnesses
Skill in managing complex caseloads and maintaining appropriate records, logs and case files
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with diverse professionals and general public
Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills
Strong work ethic and commitment to working effectively in a team environment
Strong commitment to Race, Equity, Social and Justice issues, including working on personal cultural competency
Member in good standing with the Washington State Bar
Must submit to a criminal history check
U.S. Citizenship or a lawful permanent resident
Preferred
Experience in criminal law, preferably with prior juvenile/felony level filing cases, negotiating cases, and trial experience
