The First-Party Property Attorney will manage first-party property matters from initial evaluation through resolution, including handling discovery, depositions, and court appearances.

Responsibilities
Manages first-party property cases from intake through resolution
Conducts discovery, including drafting/responding to requests and reviewing records
Conducts and defends depositions of claimants, witnesses, and experts
Drafts, argues, and responds to evidentiary and procedural motions
Prepares case evaluations, analyses, and status reports per client guidelines
Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial
Drafts pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
Represents clients at hearings, mediations, and court appearances
Maintains accurate, timely billing and documentation in accordance with firm and client standards
Coordinates case tasks with paralegals and support staff
Participates in internal meetings and incorporates feedback from supervising attorneys
Communicates regularly with clients, carriers, adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel
Maintain accurate case documentation and meet all court and internal deadlines
Ensure compliance with Florida statues, procedural rules, and ethical standards
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of Florida first-party property laws, procedures, and defense strategies
Ability to independently manage case files from assessment through resolution
Proficiency in legal research, case analysis, and written advocacy
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar
1-3 years of workers' compensation defense experience
Civil litigation defense experience may be considered
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Sound legal judgment
Effective organization
Ability to work collaboratively within the practice group
Adaptability and openness to guidance
Maintain accurate case documentation and meet all court and internal deadlines
Ensure compliance with Florida statutes, procedural rules, and ethical standards
