Pet Care Technician / Front Desk Associate

Responsibilities

Administer feedings, medications, and monitor water intake per veterinary guidelines
Observe and promptly report changes in animal health or behavior to management
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the daycare, lobby, and animal enclosures
Manage check-ins/check-outs
Provide clients with updates on pet health, behavior, or incidents using positive language and the “Bad Words Better Replacements” approach
Handle reservations, phone inquiries, and resolve concerns with professionalism
Maintain accurate records in Gingr for pet health, client interactions, and service details
Reconcile cash drawers, manage tips, and document transactions at shift end
Monitor inventory (food, cleaning supplies, medications) and report shortages
Assist in onboarding new staff on pet care protocols, safety procedures, and customer service standards
Promote teamwork by mentoring peers and sharing best practices

Qualification

Required

Strong customer service orientation and ability to resolve client concerns professionally
Proficiency in Microsoft platforms (Outlook, Excel, Teams) and Gingr software (training provided)
Organizational skills for multitasking between pet care duties, reservations, and record-keeping
Ability to lift to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in noisy or humid conditions
Fluency in English (bilingual skills encouraged)

Preferred

Prior experience in animal care, customer service, or hospitality preferred
Familiarity with pet health monitoring, feeding schedules, and basic medical administration is a plus
Certifications such as Fear Free, Pet First Aid/CPR, or similar credentials are a plus
High school diploma or GED recommended
