Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager (Solar)

Tectonic Engineering Consultants is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager to join their Energy team, focusing on renewable power and battery storage projects. The role involves leading electrical engineering activities, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring project compliance with electrical codes and standards.

Consulting

Responsibilities

Managing all phases of electrical design and coordination for complex projects, including combined cycle, battery storage, fuel cell, and aeroderivative turbine systems
Developing design criteria, single-line diagrams, protection and metering diagrams, and equipment specifications
Performing and reviewing power system studies using ETAP or similar tools
Leading project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination
Reviewing vendor proposals, bid evaluations, and providing recommendations
Mentoring junior engineers and designers, reviewing their work for quality and technical accuracy
Ensuring compliance with applicable U.S. and international electrical codes and standards
Supporting construction teams through design clarifications, site visits, and technical troubleshooting

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a valid Professional Engineering License
Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, including leadership of medium-to-large EPC or renewable energy projects
Strong understanding of generator systems, HV/MV/LV switchgear, transformers, SCADA systems, and industrial power distribution
Proficiency in ETAP or similar power system analysis software
Strong communication and organizational skills; proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients
Ability to travel occasionally for site visits and client meetings
Requires a valid, clean driver's license, as travel to job sites will be required
