HVAC Technician | Building Automation Programming Engineer
Unify Energy Solutions LLC is seeking a technically minded Commercial HVAC Technician ready to advance into the world of Building Automation System (BAS) programming and integration. In this unique role, you’ll merge your HVAC expertise with your computer skills while receiving hands-on mentorship from seasoned controls engineers.

Responsibilities
Perform start-up, service, and troubleshooting on commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, RTUs, AHUs, and VAV systems
Learn and apply BAS programming concepts, including logic sequences, control strategies, and system optimization
Configure and verify controller hardware, network addressing, and firmware for BACnet and Modbus devices
Assist in writing and testing control sequences using software-based logic tools and Python or similar scripting languages
Support BAS integrations for HVAC, lighting, and energy management systems
Collaborate with project managers, controls engineers, and field technicians to ensure systems perform to spec
Deliver clear documentation, updates, and customer communication throughout projects
Qualification
Required
3+ years of hands-on commercial HVAC experience (service, start-up, or commissioning)
Strong mechanical understanding of HVAC systems and components
Ability to read and interpret control wiring diagrams, schematics, and sequences of operation
Detail-oriented problem solver with a passion for learning new technologies
Comfortable working on job sites and communicating with both field and engineering teams
Preferred
Basic familiarity with programming or scripting (Python, Visual Logic, C-style syntax, etc.) preferred
