Transportation Engineering Project Manager

Tectonic Engineering Consultants, Geologists & Land Surveyors, D.P.C. is seeking a full-time Project Manager to support their Engineering and Construction Management team. The role involves managing public sector engineering and transportation projects, providing leadership to teams, and overseeing contracts and budgets.

Consulting

Responsibilities

Assists with management of various public sector engineering and transportation projects, including oversight and project review, visiting field offices, and filling-in to support project staff as needed
Provides leadership to field staff and engineering teams
Performs contract negotiations with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to obtain rates and contract amendments for the benefit of the Company
Establishes and monitors schedules and budgets as they relate to assigned projects, and assists with billing reviews and invoicing as needed
Assists with business development efforts, including proposal development, marketing activities, and traveling to trade shows/industry events as needed to assist in development process
Performs project site visits as needed
All related duties as required to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects

Qualification

Civil Engineering DegreeProfessional Engineering LicenseTransportation ExperienceTCC CertificationMicrosoft Office SuiteLeadership SkillsInterpersonal SkillsDetail-orientedEffective Communication

Required

BS Degree in Civil Engineering, with a valid Professional Engineering license and ability to obtain NJ PE License within a reasonable time period
Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering, construction management, and transportation experience; NJDOT and/or NJTA experience highly preferred
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented, with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, to coordinate with clients, supervisors, and managers
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, PDF software, and the ability to learn applicable time reporting and budgeting programs
Valid, acceptable driver's license and personal vehicle to travel to meetings and sites as needed

Preferred

NJDOT and/or NJTA experience highly preferred
TCC Traffic Control Coordinator Certification preferred
