LCB Licensing Supervisor

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has an exciting opportunity for an LCB Licensing Supervisor in the Bureau of Licensing, Licensing Systems and Program Management Division. In this role you will be responsible for the direct supervision of a team of LCB Technician 1s and 2s in the Licensing Information Center, requiring extensive knowledge of liquor code, regulations, and case law.

Responsibilities

Reviews licenses and permits issued to individuals or organizations by Liquor Control Board (LCB) staff to ensure they are properly executed and adhere to all applicable statutes, regulations, and policies
Responds to inquiries from applicants, licensees, attorneys, legislators, other agency staff, and the public via phone, in person, and email(s) regarding license applications, problems/issues, and application status. Refers questions/requests to the appropriate individuals for assistance as necessary
Supervises staff by assigning work and establishing priorities and time frames for completion. Reviews employee performance and prepares evaluation reports. Interviews prospective employees and recommends selection. Receives and resolves grievances and complaints. Counsels employees when necessary. Reviews and provides guidance to staff on complex issues and approves or denies leave requests. Identifies training needs and provides training to staff

Required

One year of experience as an LCB Licensing Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Six years of technical experience interpreting and applying statutes, program policies, or industry regulations; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
