USAJOBS is seeking a Readiness Program Management Specialist to serve as Chief of Readiness Plans, Policy and Training & Operations Branch at the Pentagon. This role is responsible for managing the full scope of Readiness Plans, Policy, and Training & Operations programs for the Air Force.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes and directs Air Force, Force Support Readiness Plans, Policy and Doctrine for the total Air Force Active duty, Reserve Component, and Civilians
Leads or conducts special projects involving the full range of Force Support Readiness functions across the total force
Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities for a limited staff. Directs, advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management
Represents the Directorate/Division with a variety of organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other Air Staff and Secretariat offices, the Office of the Secretary of Defense and other Defense components, the Joint Staff, federal agencies, and professional force support societies and organizations

Completion of the Contingency Wartime Planners Course (CWPC) is required within 12 months of appointment to the position
The employee must obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance. Position is designated Special-Sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position
This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug testing
The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing as a condition of employment in accordance with AFM 44-198, Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems
Expert knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of major aspects of Air Force level Manpower, Personnel and Services plans, policy, systems, and procedures for conducting major operations such as war, humanitarian operations, natural disasters, homeland and domestic operations, mobilization, and deployment
Expert knowledge of Air Force, Force Support Plans, Policy and Doctrine goals and objectives as it relates to organizing, training, equipping, planning and deploying Force Support capability to accomplish the global mission
Knowledge of a wide range of administrative laws, policies, regulations, principles and practices of Department of Defense and/or agency program goals
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and develop the staff of an organization
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of subordinate organizations segments to meet program requirements within available parameters
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy
