Responsibilities

Assigns work details to employees, patients or inmates
Supervises and participates in grounds maintenance, including trimming trees, cutting grass and cultivating plants and shrubs
Makes improvements to walks, lanes, sheds and benches, including painting and minor repairs
Performs preventive maintenance pertaining to grounds area

Qualification

GroundskeepingHorticulture practicesPesticide applicator licenseMachinery maintenanceSupervision skills

Required

Must be able to pass a written test at the eighth grade level
Six months of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in groundskeeping work
Possession of a valid driver's license may be required
Requires frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds
May be required to work from ladders, scaffolding, or from lift-truck
A valid driver's license is required
Some weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday) and holiday work is required
This position is an essential position and may require emergency call-outs

Preferred

Pesticide applicator license preferred but not required
