Responsibilities

Assists in a wide range of opportunities with tasks in their assigned department

Performs assigned duties in designated department to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards required for successful performance

Completes reports on progress in internship program and gives feedback about program to Manager and Talent Acquisition team

Intern may also participate in career training/education as needed, as well as corporate events/initiatives

Learn more about all aspects of Commercial Banking with a focus on the Life Science and Tech segment at Fulton Bank by spending time with related business lines to gain an understanding of the relationship between Commercial Banking and overall banking operations

Spend time interacting with the Commercial Credit department where individual will gain exposure to Commercial Banking loan policy and underwriting procedures

Gain experience with data entry relative to financial reports

Primarily assist Life Science and Tech Relationship Managers along with other Relationship Managers with portfolio management responsibilities and pre-call planning research for customer/prospect meetings

Attend meetings to observe the approval process and learn where/how commercial lending decisions are made

Attend internal and external meetings, events, and engagements weekly meetings, sales calls, customer calls, joint customer calls, networking events, and community events

Required

Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for a work visa by Fulton Financial Corporation currently or in the future

Fulton Bank Interns will be expected to have completed, or are currently enrolled and in the process of completing, a four (4) year college degree from an accredited college/university earning a degree

If graduated, must have been within the last 6 months

Strong academic performance is required

0-6 months previous experience will align to the needs of the assigned department/project. Experience is demonstrated through former employment or co-op, internship, leadership, or community involvement experience

Ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal skills through verbal and written communication, has strong customer service skills, and is a motivated self-starter with drive demonstrating initiative to advance their career

Ability to work on multiple tasks/assignments simultaneously, handle and manage a high volume or work, achieve deadlines while producing high quality and accurate products, and work independently and efficiently after instruction has been given

Must be able to professionally handle and prepare sensitive and confidential information

Technical skills are required with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams

Preferred

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is strongly preferred

Preference will be offered to rising Juniors and Seniors

A wide range of majors are considered such as Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics, Risk/Compliance, or other business-related majors. Specialty is dependent on the requirements/needs of each internship assignment

A general knowledge of Commercial Banking or Commercial lending with ability to interpret financial statements and ask thoughtful questions

Demonstrated curiosity around how the bank supports local businesses in the Maryland community

Comfortable working with data and spreadsheets, while demonstrating a strong professional presence to engage with customers, employees, and leaders

Genuine interest in Commercial banking as a career path
