Director of Legal Counsel
Zenity is the first and only holistic platform built to secure and govern AI Agents from build time to runtime. As the first in-house Legal Counsel, you will support the company’s commercial and operational growth by drafting and negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with privacy and data protection laws.
Responsibilities
Draft, review, and assist in negotiating commercial agreements, including SaaS contracts, NDAs, and vendor agreements
Support all teams in day-to-day legal matters
Assist with employment-related documentation and coordination with external counsel when needed
Help ensure compliance with privacy and data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
Contribute to legal templates, playbooks, and process improvements to streamline legal workflows
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to support business operations, deals, and risk management
Qualification
Required
J.D. degree and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state
5–10 years of relevant experience, including experience in technology or cybersecurity companies (in-house or through client work)
Strong understanding of commercial contracts and SaaS business models
Familiarity with data privacy, IP, and employment law
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Pragmatic, business-oriented mindset with attention to detail
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, global startup environment
