Advancement Engagement Coordinator
YMCA of Greater San Francisco is focused on fostering a culture of philanthropy across its 15 branches, and they are seeking an Advancement Engagement Coordinator to support fundraising and engagement initiatives. This role involves managing annual giving programs, coordinating donor engagement activities, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth operations across initiatives.

Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and evaluate the annual Community Campaign across all branches, providing tools, resources, and guidance
Lead Giving Tuesday and other broad-based appeals, coordinating messaging, timelines, outreach strategies, and donor communications
Manage donor segmentation, data pulls, acknowledgment processes, and gift tracking for contributions between $100 to $5,000
Monitor campaign progress and provide regular reports, dashboards, and budget tracking to leadership and branch teams
Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to align messaging and create compelling donor materials and stories
Oversee peer-to-peer fundraising programs, including system setup, training, and ongoing support for staff and volunteers to maximize engagement and results
Develop and implement strategies to cultivate, recognize, and retain annual donors and members
Coordinate scheduling of donor meetings, branch-level engagement events, and volunteer participation
Ensure timely donor acknowledgment, recognition and reporting
Train and support staff and volunteers in donor engagement best practices
Serve as the liaison to branch campaign leads, providing coaching, resources, and campaign performance updates
Partner with Advancement, Marketing, and Operations teams to create cohesive donor journeys and unified communications
Maintain data integrity, tracking, reporting, and budget monitoring for annual giving programs through CRM systems and donor databases
Contribute to special projects and initiatives that advance the YMCA’s mission and Vision 2030 philanthropic goals
Promote staff and volunteer engagement across all campaigns, fostering collaboration and accountability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or related field or equivalent professional and community experience
2–4 years of experience in annual giving, fundraising, or nonprofit development
Ability to manage multi-channel fundraising campaigns and donor communications
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; comfort working with branch leaders, volunteers, and donors
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in donor databases (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce), Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools
