Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions is seeking a Director of Catering & Event Sales to oversee all aspects of catering and event sales operations. This role involves leading a team to achieve revenue goals while ensuring exceptional service and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Lead and motivate the catering and event sales team to meet and exceed sales goals
Foster a collaborative, high-energy work environment focused on service excellence and innovation
Conduct regular performance reviews, training sessions, and coaching to develop team talent
Proactively solicit new catering and event business through networking, client outreach, and community involvement
Maintain and grow existing client relationships to ensure repeat and referral business
Develop and execute annual sales plans and marketing strategies to achieve revenue targets
Represent the hotel at tradeshows, industry events, and client meetings
Oversee the coordination of all catering and event details from proposal to completion, ensuring seamless execution
Partner with culinary, banquet, and operations teams to deliver events that exceed client expectations
Prepare detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), proposals, and contracts in alignment with brand standards
Conduct pre- and post-event meetings to review logistics, service quality, and client satisfaction
Develop and monitor catering and event sales budgets, forecasts, and performance reports
Collaborate with Revenue Management to ensure optimal pricing and profitability
Drive upselling initiatives for food and beverage enhancements, décor, and specialty services
Track and analyze business trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile clients and major events
Resolve client concerns with professionalism and urgency
Maintain strong interdepartmental communication to ensure alignment across all event touchpoints

Required

Minimum 5–7 years of catering and event sales experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals in a luxury or full-service hotel
Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business demands
Valid driver's license required

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field
Proficiency in Marriott systems (CI/TY, SalesForce, or OneSource)
