The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a seasoned environmental professional for the role of Assistant Regional Director in the Southeast Regional Office of the Department of Environmental Protection. This position involves overseeing regional staff and managing program-related responsibilities to ensure operational efficiency and collaboration across various program areas.

Responsibilities

Overseeing and guiding the regional staff in the execution of all program-related responsibilities within the region

Managing the duties of other Deputates, particularly when the Regional Director is unavailable or has delegated authority

Possessing an in-depth understanding of all departmental program functions and their interconnections

Identifying and proposing effective solutions to any regulatory conflicts that may arise, ensuring alignment with the overarching mission of the Department

Maintaining operational efficiency and fostering collaboration among various program areas

Qualification

Environmental protection experienceTechnical supervisory experienceBachelor's degree in sciencesLeadership skillsCollaboration

Required

Two years as an Environmental Group Manager (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)

Seven years of professional environmental protection experience that includes two years of technical supervisory experience and a bachelor's degree in the biological, physical or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation

An equivalent combination of education and experience in environmental protection that includes two years of technical supervisory experience
