Program Specialist Supervisor

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and strategic direction for Tobacco Control and management programs
Serve as the main liaison with federal grant partners (e.g., CDC)
Manage all aspects of federal grants related to Tobacco Control, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and performance monitoring
Oversee program staff, operations, and partnerships with healthcare systems, community organizations, and other agencies
Ensure accurate data collection, evaluation, and timely submission of required reports

Required

Strong strategic leadership skills to guide statewide Tobacco Control efforts and align programs with public health priorities
Solid grants and fiscal management experience, including the ability to ensure compliance with federal requirements and effectively steward federal funds
Effective communication and relationship-building skills for working with federal partners, community organizations, and internal teams
Strong understanding of Tobacco Control with the ability to use data and evaluation findings to inform decisions
Strong project-management abilities
Adaptability in responding to emerging public health needs
Effective team leadership to support staff and foster a collaborative work environment
Bachelor's degree in public health, Health Administration, or related field
5+ years of public health program experience, including federal grants management
Strong leadership, communication, and project-management skills

Preferred

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience and 2-4 years of supervisory experience
Master's degree preferred
Knowledge of diabetes prevention and chronic disease programs
