Onboarding Cloud Accountant (PH)

The Onboarding Cloud Accountant will lead the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring their bookkeeping is organized and workflows are set up for ongoing success.

Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end onboarding for new clients, in alignment with AMLB’s commitment to a world-class finance function for entrepreneurs and non-profits
Perform catch-up and clean-up bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online or Xero, including reconciliations, clearing accounts, sales tax, payables, and invoicing
Review client books, identify issues, and proactively resolve or escalate items that could affect quality, compliance, or timelines
Prepare clean, well-documented handoffs to the ongoing service team
Build, maintain, and improve onboarding workflows and templates in Karbon (e.g., tasks, dates, owners, naming conventions, checklists)
Streamline and standardize onboarding procedures, identifying ways to reduce friction and increase quality
Create and maintain documentation (step-by-step procedures, checklists, and short training videos) to support internal adoption of new processes
Gather feedback from team members and incorporate it into sustainable process improvements
Maintain onboarding capacity tracking and monitor utilization to help plan upcoming workload and timelines
Research, evaluate, and test tools that improve onboarding efficiency and accuracy; support implementation and rollout
Participate in firm-wide operational improvement initiatives and share ideas for doing things better, faster, and smarter
Qualification
Required
5+ years of hands-on, full-cycle cloud bookkeeping or accounting experience
Strong experience with QuickBooks Online or Xero (configuration, reconciliations, catch-up/clean-up work)
Demonstrated experience in a multi-client environment managing multi-step projects (e.g., system conversions, clean-up engagements, complex onboarding)
High level of attention to detail and comfort working with messy or incomplete records
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including video calls with clients
Tech-savvy and comfortable learning and using tools such as Karbon, Dext, Wagepoint, Plooto, and other cloud applications
Able to work independently in a remote environment, manage your time, and meet deadlines without close supervision
Ability to work remotely from a reliable home office setup
Preferred
CPA, CPB, or equivalent designation (or in progress)
Experience with Canadian bookkeeping, payroll, and/or sales tax
Prior experience in a cloud accounting firm or BPO serving North American clients
