Responsibilities

Lead statewide Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention efforts
Oversee program operations and manage federal grant activities
Serve as the primary point of contact for federal grant partners
Ensure proper administration, compliance, and stewardship of federal funds
Provide leadership and strategic direction for heart disease and stroke prevention management
Manage all aspects of federal grants related to heart disease and stroke prevention, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and performance monitoring
Oversee program staff, operations, and partnerships with healthcare systems, community organizations, and other agencies
Ensure accurate data collection, evaluation, and timely submission of required reports

Required

Bachelor's degree in public health, Health Administration, or related field (master's preferred)
5+ years of public health program experience, including federal grants management
Strong leadership, communication, and project-management skills
Knowledge of Tobacco Control
Strong strategic leadership skills to guide statewide heart disease and stroke prevention efforts and align programs with public health priorities
Solid grants and fiscal management experience, including the ability to ensure compliance with federal requirements and effectively steward federal funds
Effective communication and relationship-building skills for working with federal partners, community organizations, and internal teams
Strong understanding of heart disease and stroke prevention management
Ability to use data and evaluation findings to inform decisions
Strong project-management abilities
Adaptable in responding to emerging public health needs
Provide effective team leadership to support staff and foster a collaborative work environment

Preferred

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience and 2-4 years of supervisory experience
